A Group of Call Centre Workers won $50m Lottery Jackpot!

Winning $50m Lottery Jackpot is definitely a good year-starter for a group of nineteen workers at the Ontario call centre of Bell Canada, a major Canadian telecommunications company. Surprisingly, this is the largest single-ticket jackpot ever won in teh history of Ontario lottery, and the second-largest group win in Canadian history.

The said lottery draw took place on New Year’s eve. The group’s chosen numbers lined up, and it appeared that they have won this superb top prize. “This is really exciting,” said Sarah Kiriliuk, a spokesperson for the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corp. “It’s not very often that we get to change the lives of so many people.”

It’s a sad day for both offline and online casino poker community as mourn the death of one of our inspirational poker player – Jack Ury. Jack Ury is the oldest ever participant in the World Series of Poker (WSOP). He died at the age of 97 at Terre Haute Regional Hospital in Terre Haute on February 1, 2011. The cause of death was not yet revealed at the time of the announcement.

Jack Ury was born on March 13, 1913, has lived a very full life. He was a Veteran of World War II who served the United States Navy. After serving his time, he went to work for the United States Postal Service where he worked until his retirement in 1978. Ury leaves behind a large family of 4 daughters, 11 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and 3 great – great grand children. Having been married for more than 66 years to his wife, Elizabeth, who first passed away on 2008.
